Robert Bates

Robert Bates was born and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee. He joined the Law Offices of Tony Seaton in 2010, where his primary focus is Workers’ Compensation and Personal Injury.

He graduated in the top 10% of his class at Maryville College, where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. After receiving a full scholarship, he then attended the Appalachian School of Law, finishing in the top 5 of his class. While in law school, Robert was ranked in the top of his class and participated in Moot Court competitions in New York, was a member of the Law Review at the Appalachian School of Law, and was recognized as a Dean Scholar every semester.

Additionally, Robert has served as an intern for Becker, Fleishman & Knight in Knoxville, the District Attorney’s Office in Anderson County, Tennessee, and Altizer, Walk & White PLLC in Tazewell, Virginia.

Robert married Ashley Hicks Bates in 2010, who is a Pharmacist in Gate City, Virginia. Robert enjoys spending time with his family, his dogs Molly and Foxy and cheering on his beloved Tennessee Vols.
